Sea World again

Now that we have fun passes, we're going to try to visit Sea World every month until the end of the year. It's too much to do the whole park in one day, but if we do a bit at time we might see it all by January!

We went back for the last concert under the stars last evening. The baby cousins loved playing chase through the line dividers in the museum. It was so cute watching them!

Biscuit Brothers

We're big fans of the Biscuit Brothers. They love music and kids, and it shows in their performances. Jamie also introduced us to Carl the story teller, who kept the kids entranced for most of an hour.

Symphony Square

We braved Symphony Square today, despite the somewhat soggy conditions. Before the concert we enjoyed clowns, balloon art and the instrument petting Zoo. A well-meaning but clueless volunteer put a clarinet reed on the saxophone, but I helped them correct that.

Brushy Creek Sprinkler Park

Finally made it out to Brushy Creek Park (for the first time in two summers). Lucas mostly dug in the sand of the volleyball court. Timmy and Zachary enjoyed the water, but Zachary kept trying to drink it (bleh!)

We met some friends at the playground last week.

My parents took a trip to Corpus Christi for my mom's birthday, so I had the privilege of taking my kids to mass (instead of singing in the choir). We spent a little time at the playground beforehand.

Music under the stars

We're having lots of adventures with Melanie and her daughters this summer. We drove downtown on the spur of the moment to enjoy some free BBQ, ice cream, live music, and tour the Texas State History Museum.

One year old!

Zachary had his first birthday last Friday! We made him a cookie/brownie with ice cream and he made a big mess. He got a wooden xylophone and a book from his cousins. He also has a bit of a cold, but that didn't keep us from celebrating by going to a baseball game with our friends the Nicholsons in the evening.

4th of July

Independence Day was fun, we read the Declaration of Independence and played with not-too-explosive fireworks. Timmy loves these snakes. On Sunday had a picnic at my sister's property with all of my siblings and set off bigger fireworks.
