LASIK + one month
So it's been a month since I underwent the Custom Cornea Intralasik procedure at the Austin Eye Clinic. I went in for a post-op visit this morning.
This is what I found out:
This is what I found out:
- Right eye - 20/15
- Left eye - somewhere between 20/15 & 20/10! (I could make out 2 out of 6 letters on the 20/10 row, which are wicked tiny)
- My eyes are still slightly swollen, which could account for the nighttime halos I'm experiencing. The halos are caused by light coming in around the corrected area when my pupils are dilated. Dr. Wong thinks these will probably fade as my eye returns to normal over the next month or so.
- My right eye is very slightly overcorrected, and I notice it doesn't want to focus correctly sometimes. (It will if I cover my left eye.) Dr. Wong thinks this should go away too, or my brain will adjust and I won't notice it.
Overall, I'm very happy - give it 4 out of 5 stars. If the halos go away, I'll be ecstatic and bump it up to the full 5 stars.
Yippee! NO MORE GLASSES!
Well, at least until I'm old and presbyopia kicks in...

Hold on!
Better late than never...
We were actually supposed to be camping again this evening, but Timmy developed a 103 degree fever this afternoon. Went to the doctor and he's started antibiotics for his first ear infection. We'll join Lucas and the other campers (who went without Timmy and me) in the morning if he's doing better. Should help distract Timmy from being miserable (ear infection within a few days of 6 immunizations).
It's becoming more challenging to find time to blog. Timmy is requiring more interaction and less sleep (a good thing overall). I'll try my best to keep you updated, but I'm outnumbered!
