Took Great Grandpa to the Cathedral of Junk Saturday before last (after the Cub Scout pinewood derby). It was impressive.

 
 

News tour

Lucas took a tour of the K-EYE News station yesterday with his Cub Scout den. It was fun watching the news last night, knowing that he had been sitting in those chairs earlier that day.

Zach Update

Zachary had his 6 month well check today. At 21 pounds 7.2 oz, his weight is at least on the chart now (95%) and his length is 27.25 inches (75%). I also had his portrait taken while the boys were at school. You can view them online here, although these are the unedited versions. He was very cooperative, especially considering the fact that the doctor found an infection in one ear (he's been congested and coughing for the last 10 days). I'm thankful that he made it to six months before he had to start his first round of antibiotics!

Catching up

Here are a few updates, since I have been remiss in posting.

One day ago Zach had his first half birthday (it froze and our neighbors let their sprinklers run)
Two days ago I started teaching Latin (I even get paid!)
Three days ago I turned 30 (I won't let it go to my head)
Four days ago, on Epiphany, our good friends James and Shana had a baby girl (our future Goddaughter!)
Five days ago classes resumed at Regina Mater (Ahhh... a bit of peace and quiet)

We had a friend stay with us for New Years festivities (4 consecutive days of gatherings at various hosts' homes). It was so nice having an extra pair of hands! He even fixed my globe puzzle (it broke when it rolled out of the car).


 

Rollin' in the new year

For the eleventh year in a row, we celebrated the New Year with the usual gang from Rice (with assorted friends and family now added). Zachary stayed with Doug and me while his big brothers had a sleepover with Grandma. Zach surprised us by demonstrating his rolling prowess. No more tummy time for him! He was very proud of himself.

 

Christmas dinner

We celebrated the second day of Christmas with a family dinner. This was my first time meeting Lyndsey, my brother Travis' significant other. With Great Grandpa preent, there were four generations!

It's hard to do justice to the displays, but we had a great time looking at lights in Cedar Park a few days before Christmas.

My sister and I took the kids to the Children's Museum and Zilker Park on Christmas Eve's eve. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time hanging out. The babies behaved very well.
