Texas Natural Science Center

I took all three boys to the Natural Science museum at UT on Sunday, with Lucas' Cub scout den. The boys enjoyed posing by the lion statue, and I took a picture of my Tiger cub by the Tiger Eye stone. The insect mosaic was amazing, and Zachary enjoyed crawling around the evolution exhibit while I talked with Doug on the phone. I was very proud of the way my boys behaved.

Palestrina Choir

I got to hear the Palestrina men's/boy's choir while at Mass at the Pro-Cathedral on Sunday. I took the opportunity to record some of their beautiful music.

Since classes were canceled again today, we had a field trip to the Wells Branch homestead instead. During the two-hour program, I managed to get Zachary's 9-month portrait taken (only a week late). They've made many improvements at the homestead since out last visit, I'm looking forward to the homestead festival a week from tomorrow! http://www.wellsbranchmud.com/wb-special.html

Zilker Botanical Garden flowers

After dropping Doug of at the airport today, we took a detour by the Zilker botanical gardens. What a great time of year to visit! The azaleas and roses are in full bloom and the air is thick with the sweet scent of flowers. Here are a few of the 220 or so pictures we took. Everything was so beautiful, it was a treat!

Field trip

I chaperoned a class field trip to identify wildflowers in the field across the street from the school. It was so much fun to see the kids playing with the flowers and the butterflies. Kids need more time to do stuff like that. That's one reason I love homeschooling.

Timmy's lesson this morning involved measuring volume with water. Zachary had great fun spashing in the basin when Timmy was done. Needless to say, he dumped it. Sigh. I suppose I needed to mop anyway.

Easter Tuesday

Regina Mater celebrated Easter with an Easter egg hunt and a special lunch, each child ordered what they wanted from sonic. Thank you Mrs. Haskins for organizing everything!

Easter Monday

We celebrated Easter Monday with a family dinner and egg hunt at my mom's house. I love it when I don't have to cook! We also celebrated Doug's birthday with a cake.

We took some pictures before and after the Easter vigil Mass. Zachary was very good, he slept through the first few hours. Timmy and Lucas stayed awake the whole time, it's their favorite Mass of the year (must be the candles)!
