Back-to-school camp-out

We celebrated the end of summer by going camping at Garner State Park for three nights. It was a long drive, but a beautiful park.

Second day of school picture

Most people take a picture on the first day of school, but I missed it. So here's our second day of school picture. I've been spending all my spare moments preparing for teaching Latin (8 different classes, 3 year olds through 10th graders), which is why I'm so behind on posting pictures!

We celebrated the birthday of Mary, Mother of God, on September 8th with some friends. It was very wey outside, so we had the piniata inside.

Timmy's recitation

'There was an old man with a beard,
who said, "It is just as I feared!
Two owl and a hen, four larks and a wren,
have all made their nest in my beard!" '

Good clean fun

In our first week "back to school," but before classes, we made our own bubble solution, and made a big mess getting clean.

Herding goats

My sister wanted some help herding goats to the front of her property. We're always happy for a good excuse to spend a little time on her farm. It's been so dry, cracks have opened up in the ground, and when you fill them with water, frogs come out! She shared a home-grown watermelon with us.

Locomotion revisited

Our last playgroup of the summer was a Locomotion again. Zachary was much more independent now that he's walking.
