The kids had fun opening their Christmas gifts, mostly compliments of Grandpa Tom. Here are just a few snapshots. Lucas is still wondering if there are more stashed somewhere. He also generously decided to help Timmy open his while Timmy was busy playing with the new toys.

N...O... naw

Timmy read his first word today, sort of. He's been working hard learning his letter sounds (by watching the Letter Factory DVD ad nauseum). Today we were out at a play date and he was reading the letters on the door (it said NO EXIT). He identified N and O and decided the first word was naw (because "O" says "aw"). He could only identify X and T in the second word but he already knew it read "exit", he identifies that word everywhere we go. Still a long way to go, but it's fun to see a journey at its beginning.

Tomorrow is the feast of St. Nicholas. Did you put your shoes out? We hung up our stockings to see if there'd be a few early surprises in the morning.
