Hi everyone! My name is Timothy John Haunsperger, but you can call me Timmy. This is my very first blog post -- with a little help from my daddy! I was born this morning at 3:36 AM, weighing in at 8 lb., 4 oz. and 19 1/2" long. Mommy and Daddy made it to the hospital with just an hour to spare! I was ready to greet the world! Daddy's put more pictures of me up here. Excuse the fuzzy shots - I don't like flashes yet!
Back when we were dating I would discourage Doug from getting me cut flowers because I thought they died too quickly. Since then I've gained a new respect for them. They may be fleeting, but so is life, and you just have to appreciate it while it lasts.
I know I should feel miserable this week as we contemplate our second son's brief life, but between Lucas's hugs and Timmy's contractions (4cm and counting as of Monday!) it's hard to feel anything but blessed in the present and optimistic about the future. There's just too much to be thankful for and look forward to!
Today is the first anniversary of our second son Andrew's birth. My parents had a Mass said in thanksgiving for his life. I wish I had spent more time appreciating his presence while I carried him under my heart, I had no idea that I would lose him as soon as he was born. But brief though it was, his life is worth celebrating. He never said a word, but he left his mark in the hearts of many people. His big brother Lucas decided we should celebrate with a balloon and a cake, which he is enjoying on Andrew's behalf.
